I want to learn how to paint. Where do I begin?

Many art experts will suggest that you begin by drawing. Drawing is a skill that is definitely helpful in the world of painting. Now, if you have already been drawing for a while it is best to choose your painting medium. If you like watercolors, start there. Or you may want to begin with oil painting. Either way, be sure to start with basic supplies at first. As time goes on your supply list will grow along with your skill level.

How do I choose an art project for my child to do at home?

Many parents are unsure what type of project to do with their children at home. If you have school-aged children model your project after something that has been done in school. If not, try searching the Web for ideas or reading through crafty magazines.

How do I get ideas about what to create?

Artists often find ideas within nature and their own worlds. To find ideas you will need to focus on observing. Observe everything and everyone, everywhere that you go. Eventually the best ideas will be obvious and you will not have to work so hard at finding them.
